A pair of Art Nouveau (Jugendstil) coasters from the 1900–1910s. The faience inserts feature a hand-painted floral pattern of purple pansies and green foliage, making each unique design slightly different. The ceramic plates are enclosed in elegant openwork metal frames. The items are in average vintage condition, showing characteristic glaze crazing (craquelure) and partial oxidation on the metal surfaces.
